Today we want to mess around with that one thing you aren’t supposed to touch: THE CLOCK.

We set up USTA’s track 1 to work with SAPÈL’s clock, and track 3 to work as an internal LFO controlling the clock speed. In this way, track 3 controls track 1’s tempo.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 USTA
  • 1 SAPÈL
  • 1 BRENSO

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set up a basic sequence as in CV, Gate, Length, but use SAPÈL’s clock output instead of the internal one (see Clock and Ratio).
  2. Set another track to work with internal clock and select a rate to taste. In this patch, we used Track 3.
  3. Set up a two-stage sequence with fairly long stages.
  4. Select Track 3’s CV B and set the second stage to a high CV to taste.
  5. Set both stages’ color to green.
  6. Patch Track 3’s CV B out to SAPÈL’s Gate/CV modulation input and set the Gate/CV modulation switch to the right.
(Now track 7 works as an independent LFO that modulates SAPÈL’s clock speed.)
