A variation on last week’s Technique: FALISTRI as a clock delay/clock divider controlled by USTA!

The layout is the same: Track 1 runs at an internal clock; its gate B trigs FALISTRI, whose EOF is used as external clock for Track 2.

This time, we set up an LFO on Track 3 sync’d to Track 1. The LFO controls both FALISTRI’s rising time and the gate shift of track 2.

As the LFO gets higher, the notes become longer and out of phase, until they begin to play at a divided ratio. The LFO then comes back down, bringing everything back in sync.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 FALISTRI
  • 1 USTA
  • 1 BRENSO
  • (Optional) CGM Mixer

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set up the same patch as in FALISTRI Clock Manipulation #1.
  2. Set track 3 as a clocked LFO.
  3. Patch its CV B out to the second FALISTRI’s Rise CV input.
This will automate FALISTRI’s behavior as a clock delay/clock divider
