What about trying some random repetitions? In this patch, a random ratcheting-like effect is obtained by using SAPÈL’s Random Clock to trig the envelope controlling the amplitude, while the clock density (or the ratcheting number) is varied through cross-patching.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 SAPÈL
  • 1 FALISTRI

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set FALISTRI’s green generator to ‘Loop’ mode.
  2. Set the green generator’s Time Scale switch to ‘Short’.
  3. Set FALISTRI’s yellow generator to ‘Transient’ mode.
  4. Set the yellow generator’s Time Scale switch to ‘Long’.
  5. Set the yellow generator’s ‘Rise’ knob fully counterclockwise.
  6. Set its ‘Fall’ knob roughly around 11 o’clock.
  7. Patch the 4QM out to your favorite output section.
  8. Patch SAPÈL’s n+1 output to FALISTRI’s green V/oct input.
  9. Patch SAPÈL’s Random Clock output to FALISTRI’s yellow Trig / Gate input, and set it to “more than” mode.
  10. Patch SAPÈL’s S&H out to the Fluctuating Random / Global Rate of Change CV input.
(This will randomly change the ratcheting density).
  11. (Optional) Activate the probability distribution for the S&H and play with different settings.
