Parametric scanning for creative percussion sounds. In this patch we’ll take advantage of two separate envelope outputs of the same FALISTRI channel to shape a pink noise into some percussive sounds. The key element here is the Parametric Scanning function available in the lower section of the FUMANA filter bank!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 FALISTRI
  • 1 SAPÈL
  • 1 FUMANA

DIRECTIONS

  1. Patch SAPÈL’s pink noise to FUMANA’s Main Input.
  2. Set all FUMANA’s band faders to the lowest position.
  3. Patch SAPÈL’s random clock to FALISTRI’s yellow Trig/Gate input.
  4. Patch FALISTRI’s yellow unipolar output to the Scan Gain input and set its attenuverter fully clockwise.
  5. Set FALISTRI’s yellow attenuverter fully clockwise.
(This will provide an exact copy of the unipolar output.)
  6. Patch FALISTRI’s yellow attenuverter output to the Scan Width input and set its attenuverter fully clockwise.
(Now the FALISTRI’s yellow generator will control the amplitude and the harmonic content of the pink noise at the same time.)
