This blog post discusses an unavoidable price update and our forthcoming online store. The two things are linked.

Increasing a price is always a complex task, and there is no fancy way of saying it, so we’ll cut it short.

Over the past years, all our efforts to absorb the increasing cost have proved useful, but they aren’t enough anymore. We thus need to update our prices across the whole catalog, due to many factors, like supply shortage, energy costs, the unstable geopolitical situation of recent years, and the “normal” inflation.

We studied the situation and found that, even if some modules just required a minor tweak, the increment would have been a complete disaster for others: for example, FALISTRI’s price should have been a whopping 25% higher. This was unbearable, so we chose to try a different approach to contain the prices.

Our idea is to open an online store and start selling a few modules directly, alongside the network of trusted resellers you already know. We plan to sell limited quantities of modules according to the available stocks, and thanks to the direct sales, we intend to contain the price increment.

We will treat our shop as a regular reseller, so it will be subject to the same availability as the others, and the modules will, of course, go for no less than the MSRP. We already informed our resellers, which will still be our primary distribution method in the world. We understand that many musicians have their go-to shop, we love that, and we want this to remain.

Speaking of MSRP, we want to make a website update that we had in mind for a while: showing the prices in euros only without VAT for maximum transparency.

The EUR/USD exchange rate used to be around 1.20, while the Italian VAT was 22% (as of today). This means that we could have easily displayed the same MSRP in Euro with VAT and US dollars without sales tax since the lack of VAT was easily compensated by the exchange rate.

However, now that the EUR/USD exchange rate is almost equal, this method could be just overly complicated.

For this reason, we believe it fairer to display the price without VAT and in euros only: you can already see them site-wide, even if the shop isn’t active yet.

Stay tuned for the official launch!
