This post has four major updates: sustainable packaging, new distributor, postponed CUNSA availability, and price adjustments.

We have substantial updates on sustainability, distribution, availability, and prices. Let’s see.

Prices

Starting from last Friday, we adjusted the MSRP of the modules, while cases and accessories will be adjusted by the end of June.

Sustainability

We planned the installation of solar panels and energy storage at our headquarters, and we’ll soon begin to use paper-only packaging also for the medium-sized module boxes (those of SAPÈL, FALISTRI, QSC, and Mone).

The solar panels aim to provide up to 90% of the energy we consume for office tasks, and complement the manufacturing process: as you may already know, the Italian company that produces our PCBs already uses energy exclusively from renewable sources.

The medium boxes, on the other hand, will complete the transition to plastic-free packaging we began last year with the small and big box paper packaging. Those small steps are part of an ongoing sustainability journey, which we track on our Environment page.

Distribution

From now on, Alex 4 Distribution GmbH, our long-time European distributor, will also supply the other worldwide resellers we previously restocked directly. It will be a major improvement for us: having a single customer will streamline the paperwork and allow us to plan the manufacturing schedule even more efficiently. We also hope that our modules will be available more evenly across the globe. For you, nothing should change at all. We just wanted to tell it out of transparency.

CUNSA

Speaking of availability, we had to postpone the CUNSA availability by three or four weeks, so it should be ready to go around late June.

The reason is that the batch is completely sold out across many resellers.

Normally, we start fulfilling orders as the modules become ready progressively. However, this time we received so many orders simultaneously that it doesn’t seem fair to us to progressively ship just one fraction at a time. We thus prefer to wait until the batch is complete and then ship it at once so that the shops receive it more or less at the same time.

Please note that, due to the high demand, we can’t guarantee that all the shops will be stocked from this first batch. But don’t worry! We’ll manufacture a second batch soon.

Cunsa will be the first module entirely distributed by Alex 4.
